These wireframes are for a Luxury Marketplace site. Which will sell and bid jets, yachts, helicopters, real estate and products for very high-end users.
Challenges:
1. The client didn’t want to do any research. He was convinced that he knows the end user and if I had any questions I should research similar sites or ask him directly. If this happens to you, try to convince the client that research is not hard at all and it has great returns by reading this post.
2. I was asked to build these in two days, which I did. This is one of the main reasons why it’s kind of rough but I made up for this with detailed annotations for designers and developers.
3. I’m not familiar with the world of very rich people, so I couldn’t refer to my own experience or my friends experience to build this wireframes, which forced me to be creative and gather information online.
Solutions:
1. I used Omnigraffle to build my wireframes. I find it very easy to use, flexible, and it has a nice finish (unlike Balsamiq). And most important, most of the stencils and resources for Omnigraffle are free to download online.
2. I avoided any colors, but I used the same shade of grey to indicate certain content or interaction. For example, the darkest grey is for the Logo.
3. The client didn’t know which pages where the most important ones and he didn’t want to wireframe the whole site. So I had to prioritize resources based on which patterns and interactions can be replicated from one page to another and indicated this in the notes.

They asked me to make a Search functionality just like Toyota’s navigation bar. Didn’t make much sense, but some people like to see content moving, yes after Flash died and everything.

A friend told me to be careful with the grid size, he suggested to leave more space between elements. What do you think of this project’s wireframes? What challenges have you found working with clients? And how did you solve them?
And remember: UX is not UI.
